Netiquette

Netiquette is a set of rules to behave properly on the internet. This affects everyone who uses the internet. An example of good netiquette is if there is a Facebook fight going on try to get it under control. Another example is if someone makes a typo try to politely correct them through a private message. An example of poor netiquette would to be starting fights. Going through people's personal files without permission or hacking their Facebook or Twitter is another example of poor netiquette.

What's Legal--copyright summary

Downloading music illegaly is bad. It is bad for you  because you might go to jail or have to pay a fine. It's also bad for the artist of the songs you are downloading illegaly because that is how they make their money. There are tons of websites that let you download songs illegaly. These websites may tempt you to download illeagly but don't! You are able to make a copy of a CD for your own personal use. However, you aren't allowed to sell it or give it away for free. If you did that it would be a violation of copyright law.
This applies to my life majorly because like most teenagers I love music. I listen to it all the time and if there is a new song that I want then what's to stop me from getting it for free? Well the fact that it is illegal and I don't want to get fined. So, I stick with iTunes and buy my music and you should to!

Beatles Vs. The Offspring (Music copyright case)

In 1968 the Beatles had made a song called "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" on thier self-titled albulm. The song was written by Paul McCartney. Later on in the year 1998, The Offspring (an American punk rock band)released a multi-platinum album called "Americana". In the albulm (11th track on the record) they have a song called "Why Don’t You Get a Job". In the song "Why Don't You Get a Job" they use the melody and rhythm of the song "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" (which was the Beatles)! There has been no indication that The Offsprings The Beatles or Simon and Garfunkel any monetary compensation for using their work. In the end The Offspring said their song was a tribute to "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da".

Research Project Wrap-Up

My favorite part about the project was learning new things about Mexico. My least favorite part was presenting. I hate to present. The most difficult thing to find while researching was some of the facts about hte tour stops I did. I think my strong points of my presentation was the beginning and my weak point was probably in the middle. I think the project went well.

Technology Article

We all think that the company Zynga would never close down some of their games. But, they have! In a recent article I have read it has been told that the company Zynga has closed down some os their games. These games include Petville, FishVille, Forestville, Indiana Jones Adventure World, Mafia Wars Shakedown, Mojitomo, Montopia, Treasure Isle, Vampire Wars and Word Scramble Challenge. When this happened Zynga had laid off 5% of its workforce, they closed down some game-development studios, and had put all investment into its top-selling games. Zynga;s shares have gone down greatly by 75% this year. A month ago, Facebook and Zynga tear up a contract (their lucrative contract). Now analysts fear that Zynga leaves more vulnerable to the competition.
